Haddock at this Coulsdon shop is £11.50, the same published price as large cod. If you prefer haddock, say haddock. Do not assume the person frying will hear “the usual” as haddock. Plaice is £9.50. Rock salmon is £9.50. Those two share the small-cod price, not the large one.
The photograph is fried fish. It is not a labelled haddock from 85 Stoats Nest Road, and it is not a species identification guide. British chippies have used “rock salmon” for a long time as a counter name; this page does not pretend to be a marine biology lesson. It is the word on the board. Ask for it in that word if that is what you want.
What else is fish here
Seven king bites are £9.50. They are a different shape: pieces, not a single fillet. Useful if you want fish without committing to a large cod, or if you are sharing. Cod roe is £3.50, a side rather than a supper. A fish cake is £3.00 in the savouries list. A fish burger is £5.80, with lettuce and onions, which is a different meal again.
